Our Story

LJRH Architects were formed in 2005 through the amalgamation of Reid and Greig Architects and Leadingham Hynd.

The practice rapidly grew to one of the largest in the area, totalling some twenty staff, including the four founding partners, Henry Leadingham, David Jameson, Mike Rogers, and Bob Hynd.

The association of Graeme Hutton of the University of Dundee and David Jameson of LJRH quickly led to national recognition, with RIBA and Scottish Design Awards being given to their Drummond House in Meigle, and the association with this practice continues.

Following the untimely death of David, Mark O'Connor, who prior to joining the practice, worked on the renowned Maggie's Centre in Dundee, continues to forge valuable links between the University and the Practice.

Today, LJRH Architects have a dynamic team of young architects who bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, ensuring that LJRH Architects remain at the forefront of contemporary architecture. These young professionals, combined with the experience and wisdom of the founding members and partners, create a balanced and forward-thinking environment that continually evolves to meet modern architectural challenges.

Our Practice

Our practice is innovative and open-minded, driven by a curiosity for learning and exploring new ideas. We pride ourselves on being good listeners and effective collaborators, committed to craftsmanship and technical expertise while remaining mindful of cost considerations. Together, we create spaces that enrich people’s lives.

We are dedicated to designing sustainable architecture with a strong emphasis on people, always placing the end user at the centre of our design process.

We specialize in both contemporary and traditional architectural design for all building types, offering a comprehensive range of services tailored to the specific needs of each project.

Additionally, we provide feasibility studies, master planning, and manage planning applications and submissions for local plans.

Beyond our core architectural design services, we also have a proven track record in handling successful planning appeals for a wide variety of clients.
