Heart of Lochee - A Film by Scott Dee

Heart of Lochee

Project: The Lochee Boys & Girls Boxing Club
Film: DCA, DJCAD, Lochee ABC
Premiere: 30/11/2024 @ 11am DCA

Lochee Boys Club was established in 1946 by three brothers, Andy, Ned, and John Lynch, with the vision of providing local youth access to diverse activities, including football, gymnastics, and boxing.

Today, the club—now known as Lochee Boys and Girls—continues to serve as a vital resource for the Lochee community, particularly its disadvantaged youth. Recognizing the growing needs of its members, the club approached us to explore the possibility of expanding their premises.

The proposed extension aims to:

  • Enhance gym and training facilities to meet increasing demand.

  • Create additional community spaces for activities that enrich the lives of young people and families.

  • Safeguard the club’s legacy of inclusivity and success for future generations.

Currently in the conceptual design phase, we are collaborating with the club, local council, and stakeholders to assess feasibility, buildability, and funding opportunities.

Raising awareness and support is crucial to this project’s success. Heart of Lochee, a documentary by filmmaker Scotty Dee and funded by local businessman Mike Garty, vividly captures the club’s generational impact, showcasing the dedication of its coaches, volunteers, and its transformative role in young lives. You can watch the movie by clicking on Photo:
